shutterstock_180245678Australia is home to some incredible vineyards producing world-class wine. If you love a drop of the good stuff, there are a few festivals and events showcasing some of Australia's best wines that are definitely worth putting in your diary.

The Good Food & Wine Show – The Good Food & Wine Show is coming to Sydney (27-29 June), Perth (11-13 July) and Brisbane (17-19 October) this year. This event shows off Australia's best wine at the Riedel A+ Australian Wine Bar. There are plenty of events to get involved in, such as the 30 minute wine appreciation classes that are included in your ticket price. These are hosted by a wine industry expert who will walk you through their favourite wines and wine regions. From the Barossa to McLaren Vale and even Chile, see the schedule of wine classes here. If you're after a more indepth class then you can choose from special classes like red wines partnered with cured meats, a breakfast of sparkling wine and brioche, or even an interactive Barossa masterclass led by wine writer David Brookes. Get involved in the Good Food & Wine Show by buying tickets here.

Tasmania Unbottled – Explore some of Tasmania's famous cool climate wines in Melbourne (5 August), Brisbane (7 August) and Sydney (11 August) with Tasmania Unbottled. Masterclasses centre around food and wine matching. There will be winemaker dinners in each city and special retailer tastings to showcase some of Tassie's best drops.

There will be live music, entertainment and lots of events for both wine novices and connoisseurs that will immerse you in the fine food and wines of the Barossa.

Margaret River Gourmet Escape – One of the most exciting food and wine events of the year, the Margaret River Gourmet Escape is held at the beautiful Leeuwin Estate in Western Australia from 21-23 November this year. The heart of the festival is the Gourmet Village where you might spot famous faces like Heston Blumenthal or Adriano Zumbo in the crowd. The beach BBQ is another favourite, where you can enjoy a glass of regional wine from Lamont's Wines, Devil's Lair and Larry Cherubino Wines on the sands of Smiths Beach. There will also be cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, panel discussions and more.

Cellar Door Festival – From the Adelaide Hills to Clare Valley and Kangaroo Valley, the award-winning Cellar Door Festival will be holding wine events across South Australia from 20-22 February 2015. It's a popular event, seeing around 7,000 visitors each year, and wine brands are already lining up to be a part of it. Book your tickets early to have a chance to meet the famous faces behind some of Australia's best wineries, participate in wine tastings, long lunches, farmer's markets, masterclasses with celebrity chefs, and tours through 15 different wine regions.

Australia makes some world class wines and these events are a fantastic, social way to enjoy some of our finest. If you can't make these festivals, or are after even more wine frivolity, then you can always visit one of Good Food Gift Card's winery restaurant partners any day of the year. For incredible views to go with your wine try Ocean View Estates Winery & Restaurant in Queensland or Western Australia's Black Swan Winery & Restaurant.
