Tourism Australia Invites the World to Dine in 'Restaurant Australia'

It's time for Australia to be placed on the global food and wine map, believes Tourism Australia's Managing Director Andrew McEvoy. Food and wine is one of our country's greatest assets and it's about time the world experienced it.

This sentiment is what has motivated a new campaign by Tourism Australia to sell our nation as a gourmet lover's dream holiday destination. McEvoy said that the Australian climate is perfect for flavoursome produce, plus the passion and knowledge of the country's chefs, winemakers and producers make the nation a foodie dream.

The campaign, titled "Restaurant Australia", is aimed at encouraging diners from all over the globe to travel to Australia to try the fabulous food and wine on offer. McEvoy explained that our nation's good food is still a well-kept secret.

There is a lot more to Australian cuisine then simply 'throwing another shrimp on the barbie', and it's time the world knew.
