Good Food & Wine Show, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane, May – October

For one weekend in the year, four Australian cities will take their turn playing host to a gourmet food lover's dream. The Good Food & Wine Show brings together celebrity chefs, fine food and wine providores, and a passion for the culinary. The Show includes cooking classes with some of the country's top chefs, wine tasting classes and the opportunity to sample delicious produce from around Australia. Good Food Month, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane, October – November

This is Australia's largest food festival and is held at locations across the country. There's something for everyone, from fine dining banquets to the popular Night Noodle Markets that show off Asia's best street food under fairy lights in Hyde Park. Grab some friends and check out the growers markets or Ultimate High Tea or have a romantic table for two with Good Dinner Under $30. Each state showcases its best produce and restaurants, while offering plenty of food and wine deals, classes, events and more.

Taste of Melbourne, Melbourne, 13-16 November

Over 24,000 foodies will flock to Albert Park in Melbourne for special menus and tasting dishes from the city's best restaurants. There will be masterclasses, daily lunch and dinner sessions that go for hours, cocktail sessions and celebrity chefs. Wander the beer hall, go to Juice Academy, hang at the Rekorderlig Cider Bar or find your own way through the culinary delights on offer.

Margaret River Gourmet Escape, WA, 21-23 November

This food and wine event plays host to some of the top Australian and international chefs. Last year Adriano Zumbo, Heston Blumenthal, Neil Perry, Jill Dupleix and Tetsuya Wakuda all played a part, among many other famous faces. You can experience masterclasses, food and wine tastings, pop up restaurants, cooking demonstrations, food and wine matching programs and more – all set among the beautiful Margaret River beaches and vineyards.

Tasmania's Taste Festival, Hobart, December 28 2014 – January 3 2015

Get a taste for Tasmania's fabulous food and wine on the Hobart waterfront over the new year period.
