Review of Red Spice Road

shutterstock_93476341The Red Spice Road in Melbourne, Australia, has received a tentative thumbs-up for its second Melbourne offering. Six years after first opening its doors in McKillop Street, Red Spice Road has made the decision to position its new restaurant just minutes away in the QV shopping mall.

QV's food area is currently thriving following a dismal period for restaurateurs, according to Good Food's Larissa Dubecki. Thai is also reportedly enjoying a moment in the sun, which should bode well for Red Spice Road.

The bar area is trendy, featuring pale upholstery, chic lighting, tables designed for communal use and neat wishbone chairs. Although there are fewer appetisers than might be expected of a thai restaurant, the mains options are fantastic in both flavour and pricing for those looking to share.

The desserts are an unexpected amazement, and were described by Good Food as "A palate-cleanser dressed up as dessert".

Red Spice Road is open every day for lunch and dinner, and is fully licensed for those hoping for an alcoholic beverage with their sticky duck.
